A Transportation Safety Advisor will meet with your management team to do an assessment of your safety capabilities. We’ll discuss safety and compliance issues to determine what applies to your specific operations. Our written evaluation, with specific recommendations, will serve as the road map to help your company improve all safety and compliance functions.
Safety and Compliance Audit
Transportation Safety Advisors will perform a comprehensive safety audit similar to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration audit. Our process takes 1 ½ to 3 days and includes a comprehensive review of Driver Qualification Files, Drug and Alcohol Compliance, Maintenance Records, Accident Files and Registers, as well as Drivers Record of Duty Status. The scope and duration of the audit can vary depending on the size of your motor carrier. Our Safety Consultants are highly skilled and have participated in many successful DOT Audits.
DOT Rating Upgrade
An Unsatisfactory or Conditional Safety Rating can be disastrous to your company. These safety ratings can result in higher insurance premiums or cancellation of your insurance. A Poor Safety Rating can also limit the number of customers available to your motor carrier. A less than satisfactory safety rating will result in increased roadside inspections which can further damage your ability to acquire and maintain quality customers. Managing your way through this process can be very demanding without the help of a seasoned safety advisor. Ask us about how Transportation Safety Advisors has helped other motor carriers get their Satisfactory rating back!
If an audit by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration results in any violations, the FMCSA requires a letter of corrective action be submitted. In the event that an Unsatisfactory Rating is issued, the motor carrier must cease operations within 45 to 60 days, unless, you submit a properly formatted Corrective Action Letter and the letter is submitted and acknowledged as received by the regional service center for your region. Transportation Safety Advisors has the experience to assist in this area.
Company Policy Development
Transportation Safety Advisors can assist you with a thorough review, or development of a complete Fleet Safety Manual, tailored to your operation. All Policies are current and compliant with FMCSA guidelines.
